Pure Dance of Kathak, performance by Meghranjani Medhi.
Choreography: Marami Medhi
Music: Joyprakash Medhi

I love dance and Kathak is one form that I really enjoy watching. I like that is is both sound and movement that comes from the dancer. I don’t know much of the history or culture of Kathak but I am finding out more.

The first time I saw Kathak performed was at the Watermans theater in Brentford. I was enthralled, I still think of that night and can almost get the feeling of being there back.

One of my favorite dancers and choreographers is Akram Khan who incorporates Kathak into his contemporary dance pieces. This with performance of Sacred Monsters with Sylvie Guillem is a great example! I am gutted that I have only seen this on DVD, the shows at Sadlers Wells sold out with in minutes of being announced in 2006!

Akram Khan and Polarbear - Not all collaborations work out well… (by sadlerswells)

zero degrees - Akram Khan and Sidi Larbi

I saw this at Sadler’s Wells. It was VERY VERY good.

I love Akram Khan a LOT.
